Abstract
El objetivo general de este artículo es analizar la política exterior de Estados Unidos hacia México a partir de la llegada de Barack Obama a la Casa Blanca. El argumento principal es que, a pesar de las expectativas de cambios positivos, la administración de Barack Obama muestra mayores signos de continuidad y pocas modificaciones en su política exterior hacia México. El primer apartado establece las principales características contemporáneas de la relación bilateral. El segundo describe brevemente el estado de la relación a partir de 2000. El tercero analiza las propuestas de campaña de Obama respecto de México. La última parte explora los asuntos más importantes de la agenda bilateral a partir de su llegada a la Presidencia de Estados Unidos, como lo son el contexto político, el comercio, la migración y la seguridad.
