Resumen
El sector energético en América del Norte está integrado y provee de energía a los tres países de la región, garantizando intercambios comerciales y estabilidad en la provisión de energía. Este artículo argumenta que, aunque la energía fósil goza de integración a nivel trinacional, la electrificación mediante la transición energética proveniente de fuentes renovables y tecnologías limpias tiene a los estados y provincias como líderes de la integración norteamericana. Dicha dinámica fragmenta el regionalismo trinacional y fomenta la asimetría en el desarrollo tecnológico en América del Norte. A pesar de ello, se impulsa la transición energética desde los gobiernos subnacionales (provincias y estados). El objetivo de este artículo es ejemplificar la transición energética en las provincias y estados en los tres países, contrastándola con el proyecto de re-gionalismo energético del T-MEC.
