Resumen
El Tratado de Libre Comercio de América del Norte (tlcan) dio inicio en 1994. A partir de mediados de 2017 se renegoció a solicitud del gobierno de Estados Unidos. En 2020, después de más de dos años y medio de renegociación, se logró un nuevo acuerdo: el Tratado México, Estados Unidos y Canadá (t-mec), que seguirá en vigor formalmente hasta mediados de 2026. Dada la importancia que dicho tratado tiene para México, es crucial conocer qué puede ocurrir en esa renegociación. Con este propósito, en el presente trabajo analizamos el tratado desde sus inicios y ante los cambios en la política comercial de Estados Unidos en 2025. Concluimos que hay temores fundados de que la negociación del t-mec sea poco favorable para México.
