Resumen
En el pasado reciente el tema del nearshoring en México ha sido motivo de comentarios muy optimistas, pero el explosivo proteccionismo de las políticas desplegadas en el inicio de la segunda presidencia de Trump, genera incertidumbre sobre el futuro que tendrá México en el tema. Este trabajo aporta un marco conceptual sobre las especificidades del nearshoring en el país, con el que se respalda la percepción de que, en aún en el nuevo entorno, México sigue siendo atractivo para esas inversiones. Pero en esa reflexión se destaca también la necesidad de políticas públicas que fortalezcan la capacidad de gestionar favorablemente las opciones que se presenten con este tipo de inversiones, en beneficio de un desarrollo progresivo del país, lo que requiere profundizar las estrategias de cambio estructural de la economía nacional que sugieren el Plan México en curso de implementación en un contexto complejo y con muchos desafíos.
