Resumen
Este artículo analiza el acceso a empleos de calidad entre mexicanos de tres generaciones en Estados Unidos. Utilizando datos de la Current Population Survey para el periodo 1996-2022, se construye un índice multidimensional que incorpora indicadores salariales y no salariales. Se destaca que los derechos laborales vinculados a la seguridad social son los más difíciles de alcanzar. Posteriormente, se aplica un modelo multinivel de tres niveles que incorpora la interacción entre características individuales, sectoriales y contextuales, para identificar el peso relativo de cada nivel en el acceso a empleos de calidad. Los resultados indican que factores asociados al sector y al contexto estatal influyen significativamente en el acceso a empleos de calidad y que el impacto más pronunciado de esto se da para los mexicanos de primera generación. Sin embargo, más allá de las políticas y programas estatales, son la estructura productiva de las entidades y las dinámicas de segregación ocupacional las que desempeñan un papel central en la configuración de sus trayectorias laborales.
