Resumen
El Tratado de Estados Unidos, México y Canadá (T-MEC), junto con su predecesor, el Tratado de Libre Comercio de América del Norte (TLCAN), han establecido una interdependencia económica entre Estados Unidos, México y Canadá mediante la integración de sus sectores alimentario y energético. El estudio busca evaluar críticamente los riesgos que esta interdependencia plan-tea para la seguridad económica de estas naciones, particularmente en lo que respecta a la disponibilidad y accesibilidad de los recursos alimentarios y energéticos en el contexto globalactual. Además, se analiza la adopción de políticas proteccionistas por parte de los Estados miembros del T-MEC, destinadas a asegurar los recursos alimentarios y energéticos, e ilustra su incompatibilidad con el marco jurídico vigente del T-MEC. El análisis aborda también las implicaciones de estas medidas proteccionistas en la revisión del acuerdo, en julio de 2026, y su impacto más amplio en la futura (des)integración dentro del área de libre comercio de América del Norte. Mediante una metodología empírica cuantitativa, la investigación lleva a cabo un análisis exhaustivo de los tratados, las leyes nacionales, las regulaciones y las prácticas estatales pertinentes, adoptando un enfoque multidisciplinario que abarca la economía, la política y el derecho internacionales.
