Resumen
En este estudio se comprueba si el financiamiento de primer piso del Banco Nacional de Comercio Exterior (Bancomext) mejora el desempeño de las empresas exportadoras. Para ello se aplica la metodología Propensity Score Matching a un grupo de 1,056 empresas exportadoras. Los resultados generales muestran que las empresas que recibieron financiamiento de primer piso tuvieron un mejor desempeño en términos de ingresos, empleo y exportaciones en comparación con empresas con características muy similares, pero sin financiamiento. El hallazgo más interesante es que los préstamos otorgados durante la crisis de 2009 actuaron de manera contracíclica. En los años posteriores a la crisis, las empresas con y sin crédito aumentaron sus ingresos y empleos.
