Resumen

En las décadas de los sesenta y setenta del siglo XX se desarrollaron en el movimiento de libera-ción negra en Estados Unidos, posiciones que situaron horizontes de transformación social ins-piradas por las luchas anticoloniales que se daban en los países del tercer mundo y mantuvieron un diálogo crítico pero fructífero con el marxismo. Así, surgieron distintos planteamientos polí-ticos que vincularon de diferentes maneras el análisis de clase y de raza, lo que se expresó en di-versas estrategias organizativas. En este artículo propongo dar cuenta del desarrollo histórico de estas tendencias políticas, ofreciendo un panorama general de estos movimientos y de los aportes teóricos que se desprenden de sus análisis, al cuestionar de diferentes formas el imperia-lismo, el racismo y el capitalismo. El reciente surgimiento de Black Lives Matter demuestra el enorme legado que dejó dicho periodo, así como la necesidad de hacer una genealogía de las ideas y prácticas de la tradición radical negra.
